The legendary boxer, took retirement from professional boxing in 2018. Following that, he participated in an exhibition fight against Mike Tyson. However, after more than 2 years, he is ready to step inside the ring again.

Roy Jones Jr. recently, signed a contract with Celebrity Boxing for a potential fight. Damon Feldman, founder of Celebrity Boxing, told TMZ, “We are so excited. It’s our biggest event ever, and we’re looking for a big opponent for Roy.”
Although the identity of his opponent has not yet been determined, the news of his comeback has enthralled boxing enthusiasts. In 2018, after defeating Scott Sigmon, Jones Jr. announced his retirement from professional boxing. After that, he engaged in an exhibition fight with Mike Tyson. Even though both of the combatants attracted sizable crowds to boxing stadiums in their heyday, they had long since passed their prime. Nevertheless, a sizable crowd showed up to watch the fight and loved watching the two titans square off.

‘Captain Hook’ is one of the few athletes who has dual citizenship. Notably, he has citizenship of two completely different nations – the United States, and Russia. The American basketball player, Brittney Griner, is currently in a Russian prison, and Jones Jr. has claimed to work out everything to bring her back to the US.

As per reports, Jones Jr. said, “Would I put my life on the line, take a chance to go to Russia to exchange prisoners? Yes, I would. Why? Because if it was my daughter, I would want somebody to do the same thing for me.”
Griner had been detained at a Russian airport as she was found with vape cartridges with marijuana. It had become a global debate topic when the news broke out. The United States had classified that Griner was “wrongfully detained.”
