Boxing is one of the most loved sports on the planet and, for the past few years, the sport witnessed mammoth exhibition bouts. Many celebrities/athletes took up the ring space to fulfill their wish of fighting. Among all the elites across all the different spaces, Dame Lillard has always been assertive about his love for ‘Sweet Science’.
Lillard, an NBA hotshot, is an ardent boxing lover who always keeps himself up to date with all the news revolving in this space.
Recently, he was in a chat with CompuBox TV. Here, he shed some light on his boxing memories and more.

“Well, I think everybody had the same thing in your childhood. Everybody think that they can fight. You know what I’m saying, like fight, break out everybody think that you know they can beat anybody or anything like that.”
“Growing up in my neighborhood, we had a boxing gym in my neighborhood and I only had been to it maybe once or twice you know and that was where I saw that there was actually a science to it you know it just wasn’t who can throw their hands the best,” he said.
The NBA star not just follows boxing, but he also keeps himself up with his boxing workouts. Lillard does extensive pad work alongside his trainer, thus keeping his overall love for the sport in check.

Last year, there was massive news about him making an appearance in the squared circle. But all of it just remained limited to the news and the Portland Trail Blazers star didn’t fight.
Should Dame Lillard fight this year?
Dame Lillard is already active with his boxing workouts and he won’t be the first NBA star to take up the ring space.

A couple of years back, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson too fought the current boxing sensation, Jake Paul, but he got knocked out.

But, Lillard seems promising and if he appears in this space, needless to say, he’ll bring in enough eyeballs. Also, this seems the ideal time for the 31-year-old to compete in the ring. It’ll be interesting to see if Lillard really laces up the boxing gloves this year.
