The unified world welterweight champion, Errol Spence Jr. showcased a stellar performance against Yordenis Ugas on Saturday. Recently, NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley gave his thoughts on why Spence should fight Terence Crawford.

Barkley was talking at his ‘The Steam Room Podcast with EJ & Chuck’ podcast with co-host and sportscaster, Ernie Johnson.
In conversation, Barkley mentioned that boxing is his favorite sport. He also spoke about Spence and Crawford, saying, “So Errol Spence Jr. won this weekend. And he’s fantastic. There’s another guy that’s fantastic named Terence Crawford, They are the two best in the world in their division.”
He further speaks about how Spence and Crawford have been avoiding each other for 3 years. Barkley also mentions that he does not understand why boxers do not step up and schedule a fight.
Barkley also asked the duo to avoid a Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao situation. He said, “You don’t want like a Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao a** situation where you fight 5 years too late. And they were both past their prime.”
He also added, “But if you’re gonna be the best in the world. Can you imagine in the NBA, we had they two best teams that didn’t play each other. “

Errol Spence vs Terence Crawford
Spence faced Yordenis Ugas at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on April 16. By winning against Ugas, he retained the WBC and IBF welterweight titles. He also won the WBA (Super) welterweight title,

Crawford’s last fight was on November 20, 2021. He faced Shawn Porter at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Paradise, Nevada. By defeating Porter, he retained his WBO welterweight title.
Recently, Spence called for a four-belt unification bout against Crawford.
