The American boxer is going through the toughest loss of his life, but he is not alone. The combat sports community stands behind him and his family, as he mourns the loss of his beloved son.
‘Superman’ turned to his social media handles and penned an emotional note. While he tried to express his gratitude to God for letting him spend some time with his son before the tragedy struck, he also pleaded for privacy as he and his family went into mourning. He wrote, “Unfortunately, my son Deandre took his life on Saturday. I’m so thankful that God allowed me to come home Friday night to spend the last night of his life with me and the family.
“I know a lot of people are going through tough times right now, but nothing is worth taking your own life. God gives it and God should be the one to take it away. Please respect our privacy while my family and I process this loss. Thank you for the love and support,” Jones Jr. added.
