Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson has taken a critical hit, and the action won’t take place as earlier scheduled. The MVP Promotions released the statement on Friday that the highly anticipated fight wouldn’t be fought because of ‘Iron Mike’s health condition and would be shifted to a later date. However, this gave fans the perfect opportunity to raise their arms, as they had already expressed their discontent with the lopsided fight.

Paul, 27, and Tyson, 57, were supposed to exchange blows on July 20, but the latter had a medical scar on a flight recently. Tyson had a case of an ulcer flare-up. The same medical condition has pushed back the fight, at least for now. It derailed the biggest fight of ‘The Problem Child,’ who was visibly frustrated but understanding about it.

Paul, at 9-1, turned to his X handle and responded to the unlucky development. Not only did he wish for Tyson’s speedy recovery, but he also remained excited to meet him soon in the middle of the ring. He said, “I’m heartbroken, I’m speechless, gutted.”

The Cleveland native continued, “I do value Mike’s health first and foremost. I love that guy and have so much respect for him, I want Mike to be healthy… This is too big of an opportunity. I think this fight is going to change the world.”

Previously, Tyson, at 50-6, had also penned a message for the fans and to his waiting opponent. The former heavyweight champion reiterated his desire to knock out Paul and his excitement to make a return soon. His statement read, “Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time. But in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.” But the fans and pros have different views, as they flooded the comment section.

Pros and fans tear apart ‘The Problem Child’

Carl Froch, the former super middleweight champion, took a jibe at Paul. He blasted the YouTuber-turned-prizefighter’s boxing acumen, as the latter has mostly fought fighters on the sidelines or past their prime. The British boxer declared, “You can’t fight, just saying.”

One fan believed it was a sign that the fight should have been canceled. Tyson would be 58 soon, and a 31-year gap has terrified the fan. They replied, “I think it’s a sign… Mike shouldn’t be fighting bro. you’ve gone too far up on the age.”

Someone hilariously pitched in the idea of their grandmother stepping in place of Tyson, given Paul’s intention to fight an aging Tyson. They stated, “If you’re looking for another worthy opponent my grandma’s probably available.”

A comment favored Paul and advised him to go ahead in his fighting career. With no fixed date, Paul could squeeze in another fight with a hefty payout before he fought Tyson later this year. The comment read, “the show must go on broo. Even if Mike Tyson was fully fit we all know you were going to win regardless. Don’t fumble this bag.”

But a user didn’t hold back and pointed out that a retirement home could provide Paul’s next opponent. They stated, “no lack of retirement homes, i’m sure we can get someone.”

Similarly, another fan believed Paul was even ready to wait till Tyson turned 70. They comically added, “He’s gonna wait til @MikeTyson is 70.”

A comment attracted attention to Tyson’s age and the former fighter’s vulnerability. In the past, Tyson has suffered from hip injuries and sciatica. The comment rhetorically asked, “bro he is 58 years old what do u expect was gonna happen.”
