Professional boxing is finally offering 3 dollars and 50 cents for a night’s fight! On November 26th at the Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson, Jose Zepeda squared off against Regis Prograis with the WBC World Super Light (vacant) on the line. The bout was scheduled for twelve 3-minute rounds. However, Regis Prograis put a halt on Jose Zepeda in the 11th round via a KO win. Following the end of the fight, as per a tweet, Dan Rafael disclosed the shocking purses of the Zepeda vs. Prograis card on November 26.

Some of the figures are not only shocking but also infuriating considering the cheap value that has been attached to the labor expended by these boxers inside the pro ring. While Zepeda and Prograis received $1.08 million each (apart from the bonus from the fight), fighters such as Austin Brooks and Jacob Macalolooy received as little as only $600 from their fight! And if that was low, reportedly, Alejandro Reyes made just $3.5 from fighting Osorio on November 26!

Considering the risks and labor each fighter had to put in order to entertain and promote boxing, the exchange value is not only disdainful but exploitative. Well, at least, so does the sarcastic tone of the comments made by fans of boxing suggest regarding it. Following the breakout of the news, several fans took to Twitter and reacted to it.
