The daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, Laila Ali has followed in her father’s footsteps almost perfectly. In the ring, she became the undisputed women’s super middleweight champion carrying on her father’s legacy. However, it’s her impact outside the ring that has made her a spitting image of her father. Ali was a revolutionary, not only in the ring but off it as well. He was one of, if not the most prominent ‘African American’ personalities during his time fighting for the civil rights of his people.

Thus, he is regarded very highly in the community which has been plagued with social problems for the better part of the 20th century. Moreover, Laila thinks that people like Ali should be celebrated for the change they brought rather than focusing on the negatives of their history.

Laila Ali shares a video infusing positivity in children regarding African-American culture

The former champ shared a video on her Instagram story that had an uplifting social message. The main motive of the video was to incorporate books that showed leaders, inventors, and other influential African-American people. Moreover, this should be done to remove the widespread focus on the negatives of the community to bring positive energy to children. Laila also had her take on the video as she gave her views on it. “Yes! Let’s infuse the children with positive energy,” she wrote.

Laila clearly thinks that children should learn more about the positives of the community rather than only focusing on the negative. This could be a great way for her to bring about a positive spirit in children. However, knowing one’s history fully is what makes a person aware, positive or negative. Despite this, a friendly message can help bring the community together which is important as well. Moreover, Laila has made every effort to contribute to organizations helping eliminate societal problems.

Laila has contributed to and been part of various charities and NGOs. Some of these include the American Diabetes Association, A Place Called Home, and the Women’s Sports Foundation. Moreover, the former champion has also spoken up about Human trafficking and how to fight it in a recent promotional campaign.
