Canelo Alvarez has once again shown why he is the pound-for-pound king. He managed to achieve a sound victory against Jermell Charlo, last night as the two undisputed champions went toe-to-toe at the T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas. Going into the fight, even though Alvarez was the clear favorite, not many had believed that the fight would be so one-sided. Many had staked their belief on Charlo defeating the champion.
However, the undisputed super middleweight champion proved the doubters wrong. Moreover, he even ended up making history with this victory. He is now the 4th Mexican Born fighter to have won 20 title fights. With this, he has joined the ranks of other Mexican legends such as Julio Cesar Chavez, Ricardo Lopez, and Marco Antonio Barrera. ESPN Ringside shared the news of Alvarez reaching another milestone in his career on social media.

Canelo Alvarez joins the ranks of Mexican Legends: Fans not happy
As the news of this huge achievement of Canelo Alvarez surfaced, the response from the fans was rather negative. Many accused him of cherry-picking his opponents and even brought up him not facing ‘The Mexican Monster’ David Benavidez. Earlier this year Benavidez had sent him a huge offer of $50 million, which Alvarez totally disregarded.
One fan accused Alvarez of ducking both Benavidez and Demetrius Andrade.
