A boxer’s success is not solely dependent on him defeating opponents inside the boxing ring. They have an entire entourage as a huge support system that pushes them through the rank. The credit for a win in a boxing ring does not just belong to the fighter. The promoter, the trainer, the family, the manager, and the entire team deserve as much praise. A fight camp with team members who are willing to have each other’s back is the only way a boxer can climb the ladder of success. Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s personal assistant Marikit Laurico died in a car accident and the loss was too hard to bear for Mayweather. And this grief was shared by Floyd’s entire family. Perhaps that is why his daughter Jirah Mayweather still remembers Kitchie months after her passing.
