In the wake of Oleksandr Usyk defeating Anthony Joshua for the second time, Tyson Fury announced his return to the ring. By and by, ‘The Gypsy King’ then faced Derek Chisora in a trilogy. Following an effortless victory over an aged Chisora on December 3 last year, Fury initiated a conversation with team Usyk.
Gradually, the WBC title holder offered the Ukrainian boxer a 70-30 purse split. Despite calling the split a “greedy-belly” deal, Usyk agreed to face ‘The Gypsy King’. However, since the duo failed to agree on material terms beyond the split, the fight could not come to fruition. Now months after the fight debacle, Fury again fired his shots at Usyk.

For Tyson Fury, there is little glory in defeating Oleksandr Usyk
Addressing the greedy-belly deal that collapsed, Tyson Fury wondered why he would want to fight Oleksandr Usyk “for no money“. According to ‘The Gypsy King’, Usyk has got no personality. And since the Ukrainian boxer is half the size of Fury, the latter believes there is no big deal in defeating Usyk.

“He’s got zero personality, he’s an ugly b*****d with gappy teeth and he’s half the size of me. If I beat him it’s, ‘Oh well, he beat a middleweight,” Tyson Fury said. However, the WBC title holder feels if Usyk beats him, the Ukrainian conquers a legend and superstar in the sport. “If he beats me, he beat the legendary Tyson Fury for no money,” he added. Along these lines, Fury went on to question Usyk’s ability to sell out a center in Morecambe.
Fury calls Usyk a nobody
Recently, in light of Zhilei Zhang’s impressive performance against Joe Joyce in their rematch, John Fury, father of ‘The Gypsy King’ claimed ‘Big Bang’ would knock out Usyk. While John found Usyk “too small,” Tyson Fury called him a nobody. “If you put Oleksandr Usyk in Morecambe in a leisure centre, he wouldn’t sell it out,” Fury said.

“I offered him 30% of a large bag and they said they want more. On what merit do you deserve more? I’m a superstar, you’re a nobody,” he concluded.

In this context, it is worth mentioning that in his last fight, Usyk had a controversial win against mandatory opponent Daniel Dubois. While Frank Warren sought justice for Dubois, Usyk proposed his opponent a bare-knuckle bout to settle their beef. Anyway, following Fury’s disparaging statements, one must wait for Usyk’s response.
