Mike Tyson is open about his opinions. From tiny, insignificant things to important topics such as politics, Tyson is not the one who hesitates to express himself. The former champion has been open about the hate he gets for speaking about politics publicly. Once a liberal, he claimed he became more conservative as he got “older.” In a recent podcast episode, Tyson had a message for the former NFL player turned-politician Herschel Walker. The 56-year-old discussed Walker as a political figure and further gave insight into his mentality due to the latter being a former NFL player.

In the latest episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, Comedian Katt Williams joined Tyson to have a friendly discussion on numerous topics. And the duo dived into politics and specifically discussed Herschel Walker.

Mike Tyson on Herschel Walker

The conversation started as Williams began discussing racism. He said, “racism takes many shapes and forms.” To which Tyson added, “judicial system.” Furthermore, Williams contributed to the discussion by giving the example of Herschel Walker in Georgia.

Tyson added, “It’s funny, but he [Walker] he almost won.” The 56-year-old further explained the kind of mentality Walker might have, which will help him win in the next elections. He said, “From being a football player, no one likes to lose and come back stronger. He might win next time.” Tyson then stated that one can’t beat someone’s spirit even if one tries to.

To this, Williams added, “That’s what they were voting for,” referring to Walker’s unbreakable spirit making him a good candidate for elections. The 51-year-old comedian further went on to share a joke with Tyson, and the duo couldn’t control their laughter. Interestingly, Mike Tyson once talked about why he thinks the government controls us more than we know.

In an interview with Newsmax, Tyson once candidly opened up about why he isn’t liked by the audience and why he expresses his political views. He was asked about Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis. He replied, “Listen, if I start talking politics, my friends aren’t going to like me. Let’s just not do that, OK? Let’s just not do that.”

Tyson claims that in his earlier years, he was a liberal. And, as he grew old, he became a conservative. He said, “When I was younger, I was all-out liberal. But as I get older, and I look at my children, and I see what’s out there in the world, I get a little conservative.” It is no secret that Tyson is not the one to shy away from talking about his opinions. But, it seems like the former champ refrains from talking publicly about politics now.
