January 18 will serve as Misfits Boxing’s entry into 2025 with a highly anticipated event. The promotional company will oversee an event for their 24,000 fans at the Co-op Live in Manchester headlined by former UFC star Darren Till and Misfits regular Anthony ‘Pretty Boy’ Taylor.
The former UFC star made his boxing debut last year against Muhammad Mutie in an exhibition bout. ‘The Gorilla’ was then scheduled to face Tommy Fury, but things went south when Till claimed he would use his MMA moves on Fury if the fight didn’t go his way, resulting in the latter opting out of the event. Taylor(3-3) saw the opportunity and stepped in Fury’s place to keep the hype for the 20th edition of the X Series intact. With the headline event secured, the duo got into a heated battle during the official weigh-ins, increasing the stakes of the fight. As fans are expecting an intense bout, let’s take a look at the possible payouts of these two.

The Liverpool native requested his release from UFC in 2023 with no plans of returning. He made his boxing debut against Mohammad Mutie at Social Knockout 3 last year and won via a controversial second-round stoppage. After the fight, the 34-year-old appeared in a conversation with ‘The MMA Hour,’ revealing the financial strut he was in before the fight.
While Till accepted that his payout against Mutie was not substantial, it was the “best bit of money in 18 months mate.” According to reports, Till earned $200,000 for his last UFC fight against Dricus Du Plessis and it has been a struggle since then.
However, it does not look like things have improved that much for the Liverpool native. Before his fight against Tommy Fury got shelved, the 18-5-1 UFC Middleweight appeared in an interview with iFL TV. During the conversation, the 32-year-old made a surprising claim that he had no idea about his payout and just wanted the fight. “I don’t even know what I’m getting paid for the fight or how many tickets. I just want to fight,” claimed Till during the conversation.
So, it looks like even Darren Till has no idea about how much he is going to earn against Anthony Taylor. But it will be safe to assume that his payout might be the same as what he was supposed to earn against Fury. Fury has elevated himself in the world of boxing substantially after his wins against the likes of Jake Paul and KSI. This indicates that Darren Till would have also earned a decent payday for the fight, maybe even more than his last UFC bout. So, it will be safe to assume that the MMA fighter might be earning around $200,000-$300,000 for his fight against Taylor. Let’s take a look at what ‘Pretty Boy’ is making for this fight.
What is Anthony Taylor’s purse against Till?
Once again, there is no specific report regarding Taylor’s payout for the January 18 event. However, let’s take a look at his previous bouts to get a closer figure. The former Bellator contender switched to boxing in 2021 against Tommy Fury, eventually losing via a unanimous decision.
The ‘Pretty Boy’ was in Jake Paul’s training camp during the preparation for his boxing debut. He later revealed, “I got paid more money sparring with Jake [Paul] than I did in my six-year career of MMA,” revealing the shocking pay disparity between MMA and boxing, making his switch to boxing valid.
Since that fight, Taylor has been a regular feature at DAZN X Misfits events and is the current Misfits Light Heavyweight champion. Last year, he successfully defended his title against Anderson Silva’s son, Gabriel Silva. According to reports, Taylor earned a paycheck of $200,000 for that fight.
On the other hand, his opponent only made half of that amount. We can expect a similar split in his fight against Darren Till. However, it won’t be this contrasting, which makes his estimated paycheck to be around $400,000-$500,000.
Even if Till is earning far less than Taylor, he would be earning far more than what he was doing in the UFC.

Darren Till’s best payouts in UFC
‘Gorilla’ started his UFC career on a humble note, as he was only earning five figures during his initial fights. It was not until his fight against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244 that he earned his first 6 figure paycheck. It was also his highest payout to date, as he earned a total of $245,000 for the fight, including bonuses.
He fought three times after that but was never able to trump his UFC 244 payday. He came close during his last fight at UFC 282, where he earned a combined total of $211,000. His fight against Derek Brunson at UFC Vegas 36 also saw him earning $161,000 because of the sponsorship.
