It’s been one year since the boxing world saw Yordenis Ugas lock horns against the unified World champion, Errol Spence Jr. The fight between these two boxing sensations caught the attention of the whole world for numerous reasons. The tenacity of both the boxers, while they battled it out in the ring, was a treat for the fans. Furthermore, the one thing that remained a hot topic for a while, even after the conclusion of the fight, was Ugas’s injury. Spence Jr won the fight via technical knockout. And the fight left the Cuban boxer with a bad eye injury. The former champion recently looked back at those times after the Joe Joyce and Zhilei Zhang fight.

The fight ended with a technical knockout as Joyce got his eye injured at the hands of the Chinese professional boxer. And, Ugas weighed in on who had the worse eye injury.

Ugas took to his Twitter to respond to a fan’s poll of who was injured the worst during their respective fights. And the 36-year-old further revealed his similarity with the ‘Juggernaut.’ Ugas has not fought since his appearance in the ring with Errol Spence Jr.

A user named @Ray Jackson was curious about what the fans think about the eye injuries of Ugas and Joyce. And, whose is worse? Ugas shared this poll on his Twitter and claimed that his injury was worse than Joyce, considering everything that has happened in the last 12 months. Moreover, Ugas revealed a startling fact about him and Joe Joyce. ’54 Milagros’ is himself in disbelief as today marks one year since he fought Errol Spence Jr. The date is close to the date of  Joyce’s fight against Zhang.

“I think mine was worse, because of everything that happened in the last 12 months. The craziest thing of all is that tomorrow is a year since my fight. And we share the same coach, one of the best in the world,” Yugas stated.

Ugas further revealed that he and Joyce are both trained by the same trainer, Ismael Salas.

He wrote “The Best in the World” for Salas. The fans are eager for the Cuban to return to the ring after his difficult year. The world can expect the former champ’s return soon.

Who will Yordenis Ugas fight next?

Despite this, being 36 years old, Ugas is not eyeing to retire anytime soon from the sport. And, moreover, he has shown his interest in making a comeback to the sport this year. As reported by Boxing Social, Ugas is eyeing bouts against the likes of Keith Thurman, Vergil Ortiz, and Jaron Ennis. The fans can expect an official announcement from the former champ anytime.
