Children often aspire to follow in their parents’ footsteps, but that’s not the case for Milan Tyson, the daughter of legendary heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson! Some may think Milan, because of her love for Tennis, might want to become the next Serena Williams, the female tennis legend. But that’s not the case either! 

The thing is, Milan has been a major tennis fan—some would even say she is obsessed with the sport! Having trained with Williams’ coach Patrick Mouratoglou, many may think Milan idolizes her. And for the most part, that’s true, but Milan seems to have developed a new interest in life, which she revealed on social media today!

Earlier today on Instagram, the daughter of the boxing legend shared an image featuring Aoki Lee Simmons, the daughter of Def-Jam co-founder Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons. Though, that is not all she is. Simmons is also a model flaunting bold and daring fashion choices as well as a Harvard Alumnus. That is why Milan Tyson while sharing an image of Aoki Lee Simmons on her Instagram story, captioned the image, “Guys I just want you to know I aspire to be her.” 

But does this mean Milan has abandoned tennis for good? That’s unlikely, but fans will be delighted to learn more about her other interests in life, too. As far as tennis is concerned, Milan is as entranced with the sport as ever, which is especially evident from when she got mad at Mike Tyson for his take on Williams a while back! What happened? There aren’t a lot of people in this world who would step up against Mike Tyson, but Milan Tyson is one of them. Both Mike and Milan have been the biggest fans of the 23-time Grand Slam women’s singles champion. However, during one of Tyson’s Hotboxin podcast episodes featuring guest and rapper Cordae, who has been dating Tennis sensation Naomi Osaka, Tyson revealed why Milan got mad at him after his statement about Williams.

Tyson had apparently said Naomi Osaka was actually the best player in the world. So, during the podcast with Naomi’s partner, Tyson said, “I can’t believe my daughter should be mad at me for being with the most beautiful and best player in the world”.

Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka have met four times on the court, with Osaka holding a slight edge at 3 wins to 1. A young Osaka, then ranked 22nd, upset the mighty Serena, ranked 1st, in straight sets at the 2018 Miami Open. Again, at the 2018 US Open, Osaka emerged victorious, this time in a dramatic three-set match where Serena was controversially penalized for a code violation. 

In a third outing at the 2019 Rogers Cup (Toronto) Final, Serena, back in top form, exacted revenge with a convincing straight-set victory. However, the fourth time around, at the 2021 Australian Open Semifinal, Osaka won another close three-setter, showcasing her continued dominance over Serena. Williams retired from the sport with a final tour of the 2022 US Open.
