The legend of the ‘Drake Curse’ most recently showed up when it struck former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who was knocked out by Anthony Joshua in the second round of their clash. Drake had wagered $600,000 on Ngannou, only to watch his pick crumble in the ring!
Drake, never one to shy away from high stakes, recently revealed his wager on social media. The bet? A hefty $355,000 on Tyson, with a potential payout of over $1 million. The image of the bet was shared on X by Jed I. Goodman who captured the fan’s sentiments perfectly with the caption, “It is all over.”
Even Jake Paul, the brash YouTuber-turned-boxer, isn’t a stranger to its wrath. Reflecting on his loss to Tommy Fury last year, Paul admitted on an episode of the ‘BS w/Jake Paul’ podcast, “When Drake finally bet on me against Tommy Fury, I lost as well. I feel like it’s actually real.”

Tyson shuts down talks of “legacy” with a brutally honest take
Mike Tyson is no stranger to landing heavy blows, both in and out of the ring. But this time, his words packed a punch that no one saw coming. When 14-year-old journalist Jazlyn Guerra asked him a question about his legacy, she likely expected a tale of triumph or wisdom. Instead, Tyson delivered a knockout dose of existential reality.
Guerra, the creator of ‘Jazzy’s World TV’ asked Tyson what kind of “legacy” he hoped to leave behind. Tyson responded by stating, “I don’t believe in the word ‘legacy.’ I think that’s another word for ego. Legacy doesn’t mean nothing. That’s just some word everybody grabbed on to.”

But ‘Iron Mike’ wasn’t finished as he further stated, “So I’m gonna die. I want people to think that I’m this, I’m great? No, we’re nothing. We’re just dead. We’re dust. We’re absolutely nothing. Our legacy is nothing.”
Tyson’s perspective was undeniably raw. A reminder of life’s impermanence, a stark contrast to the celebratory narratives we often expect from legends. The heavyweight boxing icon’s candid reflections on life and legacy may have stunned fans, but they also revealed a man unfazed by external expectations. With that being said, the question still lingers, will Mike Tyson defy the infamous ‘Drake Curse’ and deliver a performance for the ages? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
