Boxing is a sport that adds up spice when there is a rivalry amongst the boxers. One such prominent rivalry was between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield in the heavyweight division. Likewise, both the fighters were a nightmare to fight.

Mike Tyson expressed his views on his ex-rival, Holyfield, when the world champion, Jermall Charlo put forth his opinion on Tyson and Holyfield.

Interestingly, the ‘Kid Dynamite’ addressed that he liked Holyfield more than himself in his recent podcast.

Mike Tyson on Evander Holyfield

In the ‘Hotboxin’ podcast with Mike Tyson, Jermall Charlo confessed to Tyson about his preference between him and his ex-rival Holyfield.

Charlo expressed, “I actually liked Holyfield more than I liked you when I was growing up.”

It was a bold statement from Charlo where he preferred ‘The Warrior’ over Tyson, yet Tyson took it sportingly. Furthermore, Tyson responded in a genius way, to which everyone in the podcast started chuckling.

“I liked Holyfield more than I liked me”.

“I like Holyfield more than I like me $##&5*.”

He also added, “He’s a nice guy.”

Mike Tyson expresses how he feels Holyfield is better a person than Tyson himself and has no issue if someone prefers Holyfield over him.

The intense rivalry

In the first match, Tyson lost via TKO in the 11th round, and as a result, ‘The Real Deal’ was recognized as the best in the heavyweight category. Subsequently, Tyson demanded a rematch.

However, he also lost the second one, as he got disqualified for biting Holyfield’s ear. This aggressive and brutal behavior in the ring shocked everyone. Therefore, there’s no doubt why he is known as “The Baddest Man on the Planet”.

The patch-up

The two boxers dominated the heavyweight division. Moreover, it was exciting to see both of them facing each other. However, things didn’t end up well after their fights, but ultimately they both sorted out the beef between them.

A rivalry that lasted over a decade ended when both the boxers shake their hands and resolved their dispute.

Notably, both the fighters are good friends now, and they also appear many times together in events and podcasts, sharing a good time.
