The event that fans had been looking forward to has finally come to an end and the result was as most fans had expected before the fight, Tommy Fury achieved a victory over KSI via unanimous decision. However, it appears that the result has fans divided, as a lot of them are claiming that KSI has been robbed of his victory. Even the YouTuber has been rather unwilling to accept his loss as well.

He had been very vocal about his dissatisfaction with the result after the fight. Nonetheless, the 6-round fight has started a controversy as calls for the fight to be at least a draw were ubiquitous. However, world-renowned boxing coach Teddy Atlas had a different opinion on the matter.

What does the former trainer of Mike Tyson have to say about KSI vs. Tommy Fury?

Even though the event was just an influencer event, the attention it received was a lot more than many boxing events. It even drew the attention of Mike Tyson‘s former trainer Teddy Atlas. Addressing the fight, the veteran trainer surprisingly took the side of the British boxer. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Ugly and bad but I thought Fury won”.

 

It appears that Atlas is also one of those people who agrees with the judges’ decision despite all the punches KSI threw. Moreover, the fighters are also being heavily criticized for their performance yesterday. A lot of fans and boxing enthusiasts are disappointed that the two spent much of the fight tied up in a clinch. Many had wanted the fighters to showcase their skills however, the fight turned rather ‘ugly’ as Fury had his point deducted after he landed a punch on the back of KSI’s head. So what do both fighters have to say after the fight?

Fury fights his “heart out”, and KSI explodes in anger

After achieving the victory, Fury appeared calm as he stated, “I fought my heart out in there. That’s all you can do. I said from day one there will never be another Tyson Fury. I’m just trying to be the best Tommy Fury I can be.” Fury also pointed out that JJ was very “awkward”, though he was happy about winning the fight. He also proclaimed, “I’m done with all this crossover s**. I’m done with the bulls**.”

Meanwhile, JJ held nothing back as he called the fight a “Robbery”. Furthermore, he added, “How many jabs did you land? You weren’t landing. Look at your face, look at your eyes. I want to appeal. That is outrageous. I felt like I won that.” Though, in a later post, he accepted his loss as he addressed his fans and inspired them to learn from him and achieve their dreams.
