Mike Tyson and Michael Jordan are two of the greatest athletes in their respective sports. They were both a step above their competition during their primes and also had similar ego-driven personalities which were, in part, responsible for their success.

Tyson was given the nickname ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ and he stayed true to this when he became the youngest heavyweight champion in the history of the sport, a record which is yet to be beaten. However, being the best at one sport rarely makes you better at another as this resurfaced video of Tyson playing basketball proved.

Tyson makes a confession in a resurfaced video

In a video dating back to Tyson’s prime, a documentary crew looked into the life of the boxer outside the ring. The crew showed Iron Mike playing basketball, while the narrator hilariously stated how bad Tyson was at it.

“Team Tyson tries to engage Mike in outside interests like basketball, a sport that, to put it nicely, isn’t Mike’s best.” said the narrator. Moreover, the video then cuts to an old interview of Tyson where the reporter also pointed how bad Tyson was at basketball.”I got to tell you you’re the sorriest basketball player I have seen in my life.” He told Tyson, to which he sarcastically said.” No, I’m great.“The reporter then stated that Tyson had a “sorry” shot, to which Iron Mike agreed.”I know, I’m horrible.” He told the reporter.

It looks like basketball wasn’t the sport for the former heavyweight champion. However, things turned out well for Tyson as a boxer going down as one of the greatest in the sport.

During his boxing days, Tyson was notorious for picking fights even outside the ring and getting into altercations with many celebrities and musicians. A similar incident occurred with Michael Jordan, where the boxing legend lost his cool after Jordan started dating Tyson’s ex-wife, Robin Givens.

Tyson accused Jordan of stealing his wife and confronted him about this in a meeting in Chicago. However, Jordan diffused the situation by walking away. This looked like the right choice for the 6-time NBA champion, as a brawl with Tyson would not have turned out well for him.
