The rules for the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr exhibition fight finally seem to have been confirmed. The two icons of the sport will return to the ring on November 28, on www.tysonontriller.com,  in a move that has displeased many.

The fans have been questioning the authenticity of the fight and the health of the fighters. However, with the confirmation of the rules, there will be more backlash than before.

Fans were already aware of certain details of the fight We already knew they would be fighting 8, 2-minute rounds and would be battling for the Frontline belt. There was also an announcement about there being judges and fans.

However, the latest revelation has changed the whole scenario. The California State Athletic Commission confirmed the rules of the fight. There will be no headgear since both fighters decided against it.

The legends will have to wear 12-ounce gloves rather than the normal 10 ounce ones. There will also be no official judges from the CSAC; however, the WBC representative judges will be scoring the fight. Despite this, there will not be any official winner.

By-far the most bizarre of all the rules is that knockouts are not allowed. Both fighters have to refrain from going for the knockout punch and if either suffers a major cut, it will result in a stoppage.

It will be interesting to see how the commission implements this rule. Although, we now know that the referee will have the authority to stop the fight if it goes beyond ‘exhibition intensity’.

Will the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr fight rules apply to the under-card?

One thing that could work in favor of the event is the fact that these rules will not apply to the under-card. Those fights will go according to the normal boxing rules. And unlike the Tyson and Jones fight, there will be an official winner.
