15th November will be a big night for Jake Paul and Mike Tyson for sure. However, 33-year-old Neeraj Goyat from the sub-continent of India facing off against Brazilian YouTuber Whindersson Nunes on the undercard also has a pretty big role to play for his country. In the meantime, Goyat seems to have landed quite the sponsorship.

Born in the Begumpur village in Karnal, Haryana, Goyat initially beefed online with his promoter Jake Paul, exchanging barbs online, as the 33-year-old challenged Paul to a fight. He even made his way to Puerto Rico, and nearly got into a brawl with ‘The Problem Child.’ But seeing his potential, Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian signed him into his company instead, and lo and behold, Goyat is now fighting on his undercard. 

With just one day remaining until the event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the latest update reveals that Goyat has secured backing from Zomato, an Indian multinational restaurant aggregator and food delivery firm. According to a report from The Economic Times, the food delivery major reached a market capitalization of $28 billion. This came a day after the food delivery mogul delivered better-than-expected results for the April-June quarter. 

Regardless, the great news about Goyat’s affiliation with the company came two days ago when Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato, announced their partnership on social media. “We’re excited to back @neeraj_goyat as he makes India proud [on] a global stage,” Goyal wrote on Instagram while sharing a still with Goyat during their appearance on a local TV show. 

That said, Goyal has a special message for the 33-year-old boxer heading into the biggest fight of his career.

The business mogul continued in his Instagram post, “I met Neeraj at [Kapil Sharma Show] recently. His story and attitude are inspiring.” Despite being a rather unknown name in the international boxing scene, Goyat is quite familiar with the ring, having won the WBC Asian title three times. 

He also earned a bronze medal at the 2016 Venezuela Olympic Qualifiers Tournament before claiming bronze at the 2008 Youth Commonwealth Games. These achievements appear to have been more than enough to secure the full backing of Zomato’s CEO for Goyat. 

“Neeraj is the only Indian boxer to make it to one of the biggest boxing fights—the Paul vs Tyson mega-event streaming on @netflix (@netflix_in) this week,” Goyal added. Later, he attached a short message for the 33-year-old, wishing him luck. “We are thrilled to be a small part of Neeraj’s journey, as his official sponsors. Rooting for him. Punch up, brother.”

It appears what started as a challenge to Jake Paul, has turned into a full-blown lucrative career in professional boxing in the States for Neeraj Goyat. However, whether the Indian boxer can capitalize on the opportunity is yet to be seen when he fights on Mike Tyson‘s undercard. What do you think about Goyat’s newfound success?
