Regional Mexican and reggaeton artist Peso Pluma has been one of the most popular musical acts of recent times in the United States. His hit number, ‘Rubicon,‘ has already bowled more than 125 million Americans. Now there’s a piece of good news for all the fans to see him up close. At the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, Pluma enters for the first time as one of the nominees in as many as five categories, including the Top Latin Artist award.

If reports can be believed, the show will have a live performance from him as well! But the cherry on top would be who joins him when he performs ‘Rubicon.‘ Reportedly, the youngest Heavyweight champion in history, Mike Tyson, will make a special appearance alongside Peso Pluma. The musician is expected to play out the song in a theme inspired by boxing.

Billboard Music Awards and Billboard Latin shared a few details through their Instagram handles. So, the organizers have scheduled the award ceremony for Sunday, November 19. Peso Pluma will set the stage on fire with a dazzling performance of his chart-busting song, ‘Rubicon.’ Additionally, fans and followers will get to see Mike Tyson. The youngest Heavyweight champion in boxing history makes a special appearance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Born in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico, 24-year-old Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, who is otherwise globally known as Peso Pluma, has gradually established himself as a name to reckon with in the music industry. His album ‘Genesis‘ made its debut at the third position on the Billboard 200 list. In its inaugural week, it reportedly amassed roughly 101.8 million streams. Eventually, it became the highest-ranking regional Mexican album of all time. On the Top Latin Albums chart, ‘Genesis‘ stayed at the number one position for nearly 15 weeks. However, it was a record of sorts for regional Mexican music.

The former champion, too, reposted the Billboard Music Awards’ tweet through his X account early today.
