Boxing legend Mike Tyson is well known for engaging in psychedelic substances. The former heavyweight champion has been quite open about his use of these substances and is not shy to speak on their effects. However, there is one drug that made ‘Iron Mike’ communicate with god.

The substance in question is a powerful psychedelic called 5-MeO-DMT, derived from the venom of the Sonoran Desert toad. In an episode of his podcast Hotboxin, along with guest rapper, Wiz Khalifa, Tyson claimed that he has had around 80 experiences with this substance. This was not all as he described what it felt like being under the influence of such a potent drug.

Mike Tyson details his experience while using 5-MeO-DMT

In the podcast, Tyson told the rapper that the highest form of psychedelics was the bufo alvarius, the scientific name of the Sonoran Desert toad. “The highest form of psychedelics is something called bufo alvarius” said Tyson. However, Khalifa revealed that he had never tried it.

Tyson would then go on to reveal the effects of the drug and claimed that it made him talk to god. “It’ll take you to you. You talk to God actually” he added. However, this was not all as Tyson also revealed how he injected the substance from the toad and made a bold claim about the times he did the drug.

Later in the podcast, Khalifa was curious as to how the toad venom was injected. Tyson then explained the process stating that the venom which is a form of pus, is scratched from the toad and then smoked. He also claimed that he did the drug over eighty times.

You take the pus from the bums, and then you put the pus on a mirror and let it harden. After that, you grind it up and smoke it. Yeah, I did it about 80 times.” said Tyson.

Regardless of one’s opinion on Tyson’s use of 5-MeO-DMT, it is clear that this is a topic that warrants further discussion and exploration. The potential therapeutic benefits of psychedelics are still not fully understood, and more research is needed to determine their safety and effectiveness. While Tyson might have had life-altering experiences with the drug, it is important to know that more research is needed to fully understand these substances and one should approach them with caution and respect.
