UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has taken a super fight against boxing world titlist, Tyson Fury, into consideration. His ongoing turmoils with the UFC regarding pay-scale is also an issue that can urge him to shift into boxing sooner. However, he might not have an easy road over there.
The Heavyweight icon, Mike Tyson, has formerly tipped ‘The Predator’ on how to vanquish the undefeated Fury. But Tyson doesn’t see Ngannou accomplishing that in reality. 55-year-old Tyson recently sat with Daniel Cormier and Brandon Marshall in the wake of Super Bowl 2022. He shared views on several things, including a potential fight between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury.

Mike Tyson said, “You know how many professional guys that punch hard, tried to hit him [Tyson Fury] and can’t do it?”
Former UFC two-weight champion, Daniel Cormier also agreed. ‘DC’ said, “That’s what I was saying, Fury, has seen that. Fury has seen Francis [Ngannou] because he has fought Deontay [Wilder].”
Tyson Fury knocked out Deontay Wilder in his last outing and defended his WBC belt in style. Akin to Ngannou, Wilder is also known for his immense power and one-punch KO ability. But that didn’t help him in an in-ring affair against ‘The Gypsy King’. Therefore, Mike Tyson backed Fury to have easy work on Ngannou, similar to most of the combat world.

Ngannou, however, has shown sheer progress in his MMA career. A natural striker, he reflected his wrestling abilities against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 and defended his heavyweight belt. Nevertheless, he received a $600k payment from the fight. Henceforth, he is now targeting a million-dollar paycheck which Tyson Fury can rightly offer.

Will Tyson Fury entertain a scrap against Francis Ngannou?
Fury has verbally accepted to face Ngannou, which he tagged as ‘Clash of Titans’. That fight can still take years to happen. Fury is currently assigned to retain his WBC belt against mandatory contender Dillian Whyte. It will possibly be his return to the UK for a fight, and Frank Warren has already put on a record-breaking $41 million purse bid.
Meanwhile, an undisputed heavyweight title fight is also viable in Fury’s upcoming plans. So, Francis Ngannou may have to stick to the UFC for some more years. On retaining his dominant aura, a super fight against Tyson Fury can clearly happen.
