YouTube boxer Jake Paul might have landed a big-money fight, as Terence Crawford has named his price to risk it all in the ring with the Cleveland native. ‘The Problem Child’ is coming off a lackluster win over legendary heavyweight champion Mike Tyson last November in Las Vegas, which was mired in controversy.
The youngest heavyweight champion couldn’t do much after the first round, ultimately handing Paul a unanimous decision win. This made many believe his main motivation was to make some money out of the unusual matchup, which Tyson did by pocketing a reported $20 million from the fight while Paul walked away with $40 million.
However, Tyson’s paycheck seems to have been made almost irrelevant after the two-weight undisputed champion Terence Crawford named his price to square off against Paul. The 28-year-old fought Tyson at heavyweight, but his upcoming fight against the former middleweight champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., is set at cruiserweight.

This means Crawford will have to, at least, meet Paul midway, which will be too much for the undefeated future Boxing Hall of Famer. While appearing on the Club Shay Shay podcast with Shannon Sharpe, Crawford’s initial reaction to being asked to fight Paul was the same, but money seems to have convinced him.
When asked whether he would ever consider fighting Jake Paul, Crawford said, “Nah, nah. He [is] too big… But he’s doing his thing.” When Sharpe introduced a hypothetical $200 million purse for Crawford, he promptly said, “I am fighting Jake Paul,” as everyone in the room burst into laughter.
While Crawford would consider fighting Paul for the right money, he wasn’t happy about Tyson’s fight against Paul.

Terence Crawford brands Mike Tyson ‘too old’ for Jake Paul
Later in the interview, Sharpe asked ‘Bud’ about his thoughts on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight. Crawford, disappointed with the affair to begin with, claimed he loved Mike Tyson, but acknowledged the 58-year-old “shouldn’t have been out there.” Crawford was also asked whether he thought the fight was rigged, as many speculated.

“I don’t know. I don’t want to spread [any] rumors, but Tyson shouldn’t [have] been in there at all,” Crawford told Sharpe, answering the question. He further added that Jake Paul never should be able to say that he beat Mike Tyson, noting, “Mike Tyson’s old… [He is] old enough to be my dad, and he shouldn’t have been in there.”

That said, it appears there is a number that could convince Terence Crawford to get in the ring with Jake Paul, who is much heavier than he is. Jake Paul might want to note that number down and take it to Netflix. But for now, Crawford is focused on Canelo Alvarez. Do you think Crawford should fight Jake Paul?
