It’s all the boxing fans are talking about. Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul, July 20th. Within mere hours of the announcement, the fight was already the talk of the boxing town. Not only has it caught the fans’ imagination, but the promotion is also making sure it’s the only thing that fans talk about. How?
Tyson 2.0, a $160 million-worth premium cannab*s products company helmed by ‘Iron Mike’, has come up with an attractive and unique idea to promote the fight. It will print the products with Paul’s face on them. But with an animated ear that appears to be bitten off. This is a cheeky reference to the former world champion’s infamous incident when he bit off Evander Holyfield‘s ear in their rematch.
“The team is playing with some new package ideas.. thoughts?” The company wrote in the caption as it unveiled the new packaged products. Notably, ‘Iron Mike’ ventured into the cannab*s business in October 2021. The company has since skyrocketed, amassing lump sums of revenue. More recently, it expanded its base and reached home growers too.

Given the side businesses and his other commitments, the news of Tyson fighting with Paul on Netflix shocked many. Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) signed a deal with Netflix last year. But very few would have imagined that Paul would fight Tyson on the card. Interestingly, it will only be the third live sports event for Netflix and the first combat sports one.
The fight with Paul on July 20 at AT&T Stadium will mark Tyson’s return to the squared circle after almost 4 years. He had previously fought Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match. He got in shape and had expressed his desire to roll it back one more time. Interestingly, Both Tyson and Paul were featured on the same card in 2020. The 27-year-old boxer had gone viral for knocking out Nate Robinson in his second pro fight which featured in the undercard of Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. main event in 2020. Since then, Paul has gone 9-1 in his professional career, most recently defeating Ryan Bourland. “It will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT,” Tyson said in a statement.
However, Tyson looks ahead to dropping Paul, as he announced, “It’s a full-circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch. I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones. And now I plan to finish him.” It remains to be seen whether the fight will be fought under the exhibition rules and whether Tyson can fulfill his plans.
