As posted by Teddy Atlas, Garcia was quoted saying, “All I got is my word and my ba*ls and I ain’t breaking them for nobody.”

Notably, the quote was used by Al Pacino’s character Tony Montana in the movie Scarface (1983).

Atlas further added that former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson also quoted lines from movies.

The Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna showdown

There were talks about a potential fight between Ryan Garcia and Javier Fortuna after his victory against Emmanuel Tagoe in April. It is worth noting that Javier Fortuna had previously promised to prove that Garcia was an overrated fighter.

Garcia faced Fortuna at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California on July 16, 2022. In fact, the bout between the two was a sight to witness. However, from the start, it seemed certain that the fight was going to be in Garcia’s favor. He kept Fortuna at bay with long-range jabs. Notably, Fortuna could not put up any offense against Garcia in the first few rounds.

During the fourth round, Garcia downed Fortuna for the first time in the bout with a brutal left to his ribs. He went on to knock Fortuna down for the second time during the fifth round.

Fortuna was already reeling from the previous two knockdowns. And round six wasn’t kinder either. Garcia went on to deliver a crushing left blow sending Fortuna to the canvas for the final time in the bout. He was declared the winner by TKO.
