Tyson was hosting the ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson podcast with co-host Sebastian Joseph-Day. UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya was the guest on the show.

In conversation, ‘Stylebender’ talked about Colby Covington’s attachment to his championship belt. He said, “You know like some guys Colby, it was at the time when he had the belt. He’d walk around everywhere with it.”

Tyson was quick to point out the similarity between him and Covington. He mentioned, “Yeah, I would do the same everywhere. I’m going to dinner, I’m going to pull my hand with my friends, chilling out. I had a car with my belt on.”

He further added, “All my life since I was 11 years old, this is what I dreamed off. I think I killed so many things about me walking around with it.”

However, Adesanya contradicts this by saying that he does not want to get attached to his belt. He even mentions that he does not want the belt to become his identity.

Tyson responds by saying, “This is where it gets tricky. You’re not attached to it. It is attached to you.”

Notably, boxing commentator and trainer Teddy Atlas compared Covington to boxing legend Muhammad Ali. Atlas was in ‘THE FIGHT with Teddy Atlas’ podcast alongside co-host Ken Rideout. Rideout and Atlas were talking about the then-upcoming bout between Covington and Jorge Masvidal.

Moreover, he specifically gave emphasis on the fighter’s personality both in the ring and outside. He said, “You know, Covington draws people. Hate him or, he’s like a Muhammad Ali. He goes by the Muhammad Ali, you know, way and philosophy of people are gonna come. They either hate me or they gonna love me. But they gonna come and buy a ticket.”
