Former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, is undoubtedly one of the most iconic boxers ever. His explosive performances inside the ring and an equally colorful performance outside the ring made him a household name. And, in fact, it also gave him the well-deserved moniker, ‘The Baddest Man on The Planet’. Fans have often yearned to see him return to the ring after he retired in 2005. Meanwhile, Tyson recently gave an insight on if he plans to do so.

An interviewer from TMZSports recently caught up with Tyson. And made it a point to quiz him about fighting again. It is worth mentioning that Tyson’s last professional fight was against Kevin McBride in 2005. But, he stopped before the seventh round. And even announced that he was quitting professional boxing, by saying, “I don’t think I have it anymore. Because I got the ability to stay in shape. But I don’t got the fighting guts I don’t think anymore. I don’t have this in my heart anymore.”
The champ later made a comeback with an exhibition bout against another boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.
Mike Tyson opens up about the prospect of fighting again
The interviewer initially asked him if he was interested in becoming the referee for a potential Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou fight. ‘Iron’ Mike, on the other hand, seemed interested in the idea. He was then asked, “Your last fight was against Roy Jones. Roy’s taking another fight against an MMA fighter. Will you ever take another fight by any chance?”
Tyson was quick with his reply. He said, “You never know.”
The interviewer seemed pleased with Tyson’s response. She further went on to mention, “I love that. But everybody would love to see you in the ring my friend.” On hearing this, Tyson nodded in agreement. And added that he would love to see himself step inside the ring once again.

The Tyson vs Jones Jr. showdown
It was announced on June 2020 that Tyson will make a comeback with an exhibition fight against Jones Jr. The fight aptly titled, ‘Lockdown Knockdown’ went on to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Tyson was sure to showcase the raw power that gave him a special place in the hearts of fans. The fight ended in a split draw.
