Mike Tyson and Tupac Shakur both left an indelible mark on the entertainment landscape in their own right. Both rose as two of the most influential individuals in their own sectors. Their profound influence on popular culture remains evident even in the present day. Moreover, the duo had mutual respect and admiration for each other. It is understandable as both individuals were at the top of their game during the 90s.

Tyson has been very open about his praise for Tupac. He has recounted his interactions with Tupac on multiple occasions as he reminisced about the past. Three years ago, Tyson appeared on expediTIously with Tip T.I. Harris, where he shared details about the time Tupac visited him while he was incarcerated.

During the podcast, American rapper and record producer, TI inquired Tyson about his relationship with the Late rapper Tupac. Tyson compared Pac with the likeness of a “Roman general”. Tyson called him “an amazing guy,” who demanded respect and took himself very seriously. He went on further and called him “Ahead of his time” and that this is the “reason why he is not with us no more.” TI then went on to ask Tyson about his founded memories with Pac. To this Tyson said that it is the memory of Pac coming to visit him in prison.

Now, at the time Tyson was in jail due to some serious allegations. At the time, Tyson remembers how Pac was so excited and energetic and how he changed the whole atmosphere with his energy. Tyson revealed the hilarious memory of Pac just getting on the table. Tyson shared that he saw that cops and guards were looking at him, which prompted Tyson to ask him to come down from the table.

And he only managed to get him down with a lot of effort, Tyson said. By that time, the guards were ready to come. Pac’s presence also had a lot of effect on other inmates as even they started going “rowdy and pumped up”. Tyson said that this caused a “safety situation” which caused the guards to dislike Pac. This effect is understandable, considering his influence at the time.

Tyson shared the remorse he felt over Tupac’s death

Previously, Tyson has expressed his remorse over the tragic death of the beloved rapper Tupac Shakur. In an interview with VladTV, he revealed how, even after so many years, he still finds himself responsible in some way for Pac’s death. Tyson revealed that in 1996, Tupac was present in Las Vegas to witness Tyson vs Bruce Seldon.

Tyson now believes that he may have inadvertently influenced Shakur to attend the event. He wanted to do his ring walk alongside a Shakur track playing in the background, so he persisted that Pac brings a tape with him. “I felt a little guilty about him coming to the fight … me pressuring him (saying) ‘Hey you wanna bring the tape, don’t forget the tape,’” Tyson said. Tyson and Pac were good friends, which may be because how they both grew up in absolute poverty to the heights of success. Tyson, for one, had a rough childhood. And this friendship is the reason why he feels so dejected about the rapper’s death.

Tyson had initially intended to accompany Shakur to the 662 nightclub following the match. However, due to the recent birth of his baby and the desire to be with his family, he decided to alter his plans.
