Is it time for Mike Tyson to reclaim his brand and show these fraudsters who's boss?

It was a sad day for the boxing world when Mike Tyson announced that he would be shutting down his hugely popular podcast show Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson this year. For an impressive 262-episode-long endeavor, Tyson had wide-ranging, free-flowing, and unfiltered conversations with guests from all walks of life.

With the podcast, fans got to see a different version of Tyson, which was a far cry from his ‘Iron Mike’ days. Amidst a haze of smoke, Tyson spoke to his guests with immense sensitivity, often talking about his own past traumas, creating a comfortable environment for other guests to talk about their vulnerabilities, and sharing his wisdom with them.

Nonetheless, other priorities forced him to announce his departure from the show. The show, which debuted in 2019, ended with Tyson’s candid interview with American rapper Rick Ross. However, a pressing issue has cropped up as frauds are trying to milk the success of the show. Recently, there have been attempts to reach out to people using the brand’s likeness.

“It has been brought to our attention that there have been fraudulent attempts to reach out to people to be booked on hotboxing,” Mike Tyson explained in his Instagram story. Furthermore, Tyson hinted at the fact that people are being approached through a Gmail address, which has never been a point of contact for the guests on the show. “We would never reach out from a Gmail address,” he noted.

That being said, Tyson urged people to report instances of “fraudulent activity” pertaining to Hotboxin with Mike Tyson that they may have come across. “Hotboxin’ is no longer in production. Please DM in any instances of fraudulent activity or report on the contact page of miketyson.com,” he stated in conclusion.

Hopefully, Mike Tyson’s farewell message will be another substantiating evidence for people to stop engaging with fraudsters sending messages on behalf of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson to their Gmail accounts.
