“Mike Tyson is Twice the Man That Bear Hugger Is”: Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Past Controversial Remarks About Boxing Legend Still Causes Stir in Combat World

Back in 2021, Khabib Nurmagomedov appeared as a guest on the famous podcast of the boxing legend Mike Tyson, Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson. His appearance was one which was highly demanded by the fans of the show. The fans finally got what they desired and the UFC legend appeared on the show and they got to see the candid version of their favorite fighter as well. However, what was shocking is that Nurmagomedov had some unpleasant things to say about the podcast.

Recently, his quote from back then resurfaced on Facebook, the post quoted the former lightweight champion. The post shared the picture of Tyson and Nurmagomedov together and his quote was edited on the picture. He had said, “I didn’t like his sight. We were on his ranch… I told him right away to get rid of all the things like smoke at the table. All in all, I didn’t like being there. I liked more the way Cristiano Ronaldo looked. He looks like an athlete.”

It is to be noted that both Tyson and khabib share immense respect for one another. Moreover, even though Nurmagomedov had made this statement, he had good things to say about the event too as he expressed his thanks on his Instagram post about the opportunity of meeting the boxing legend.

Fans’ reaction to the resurfaced words of Khabib Nurmagomedov toward Mike Tyson

As the picture reminded fans of Nurmagomedov’s harsh critique of the boxing legend, they were less than impressed, to say the least. Many were quick to jump in to defend Tyson and some even chose to attack the UFC veteran. One fan, Tomáš Šedivý took the chance to share his love for Tyson in the comments. He wrote, “Mike Tyson is Alfa also Omega in boxing. Living legend, thanks Galaxy for this man. Real man, Real Story, Real legend.”

Another fan Julian Whitecap shared his understanding of how the former UFC champion must have felt as he found himself in such a situation. He added, “Must have been just torture for Khabib lol.” However, Nawshirwan Barzinje didn’t like him critiquing the youngest heavyweight champion like that. In response, he claimed, “Fake champ talking about Real champ.”

Lee Troman also remarked, “Mike Tyson is twice the man that bear hugger is…”. Meanwhile, Jason Gramling disrespected the Dagestan native as he wrote, “When a flea criticizes a lion…”. Alexandar Kostic claimed, “Khabib is full of crap…”. Another fan Fomin Andrey wrote, “Khabib peacing off sometimes.”
