Is Jake Paul biting off more than he can chew with Mike Tyson, or is it genius?

Artur Beterbiev won, period. It’s been three days since that momentous fight. Discussions have run rampant about Dmitry Bivol being robbed of a well-deserved win or that the fight should have ended in a draw. But it’s time to move. Artur Beterbiev came out strong enough to claim the undisputed crown. Let’s put the matter to rest and take a look at the marquee clash that’s staring everyone in the face. It’s about a month away. Nevertheless, the Mike Tyson and Jake Paul showdown has generated buzz to warrant attention. May not be for the best of reasons, though.

The fight has been under the microscope since its announcement. The significant age difference and ring activity are often the topics that arise during discussions. Nevertheless, while the discourse rages on, slight whispers about ‘The Problem Child’s next outing seem to have emerged. Who will he fight next? One name that often props up is that of old rival KSI. In crossover boxing, their rivalry shines above many duels. Only the two have yet to take their contention to its logical conclusion—a showdown in the ring. Now, per what Jake Paul’s former trainer shared, it seems that the anticipated fight might stay a distant dream.

By all means fight, but there’s a small caveat

Through his Twitter handle, BJ Flores first pointed out how his former pupil had been upping his game, fighting some of the best fighters in the game. From Mike Perry to Nate Diaz, the Ohioan has now set his sights on ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. However, a word of caution soon followed. He said, “He won’t be coming down from 220 lbs. to meet KSI demands,” further adding, “Fight won’t happen unless KSI gains weight.

Perhaps, considering how he has been working on his weight for the upcoming heavyweight Netflix bout, it seems there is little chance of Jake Paul trimming down anytime soon.

Probably the concluding quip might have been a response to KSI’s callout. A few months ago, through his channel, the English YouTuber-turned-boxer and businessman made his final offer to Jake Paul. “Today Jake, I’m going to be making you my final offer for May 2025,” said KSI.

Fluctuating weights

Ready to face Paul, even in the United States, the Prime co-founder, pointed out how initially they had reportedly agreed to a face-off at 180 pounds. But, he stated that Paul ‘decided to run away’ and fought Nate Diaz in August last year. Paul eventually did come back. However, the English content maker claimed, ‘The Problem Child’ insisted on a fight at 185 pounds. Later, to his utter surprise, the American shifted the goalposts to 200 pounds!

So KSI proposed his last term, “I’m tired of this bullsh*t; get off the cycle and let’s make this work. We both have weight to lose, and we both have plenty of time to do it. 185 pounds is my final offer. Take it or leave it.

While he prepares himself for the Tyson fight, in the latest episode of his podcast, BS w/ Jake Paul, ‘The Problem Child’ submitted his last bid. Agreeing to cut his weight, he roped in a reported ‘Mr. Beast’ suggestion. Paul said, “So there you have it, KSI, you want 185. I want 200. I didn’t want to budge. You didn’t want to budge. Mr. Beast said, Why don’t we just meet in the middle? Good point, Mr. Beast; I’m down 192.5, and that’s my final.

So there it goes; the issue appears stuck in the middle. Fans will be eagerly watching out whether KSI accepts the challenge or not. If the fight does get booked, then it could be one of the biggest crossover features of 2025.

What do you feel? Do you think KSI should accept Jake Paul’s current proposition?
