There is one thing that sets the former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, apart from many other boxers. His unending drive and insatiable hunger for greatness. On the other hand, he is also known for unceasingly motivating his compatriots to strive for the pedestals of glory. In a recent episode of his podcast, Tyson shared some invaluable advice about the journey to success.

Tyson was hosting his ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson’ podcast, with, the defensive end for the Los Angeles Chargers, Sebastian Joseph-Day, as the co-host. Meanwhile, rapper and songwriter, Cordae was present as a guest for the episode. The trio was in a vehement exchange about people that inspired them and further played a major role in molding their careers.

In conversation, Joseph-Day asked Cordae about his thoughts on his growth as an artist. Notably, Cordae started his hip-hop career at the age of 18. And was 6 years into his career as a music artist at that point.

Cordae responded by saying, “I’m just getting better every day. Just repetition. Staying in that lab. And recognizing what I can get better at.”

He also added that he makes it a point to leave his ego at the door every single time.

Mike Tyson has a piece of advice for Cordae

‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ was intrigued by Cordae’s thought process and work ethic. Additionally, he went on to give some indispensable advice to the young artist.

Tyson drew parallels to Cordae’s thoughts, and said, “But you have to remember this little brother. I don’t care if you want to be an ant collector. Whenever you want to be the best in the world, at anything. I don’t care about anything, you have to expect some disappointments. And then be able to handle those disappointments so that they won’t happen again.”

He further added, “Adversity is beautiful. Getting you a** kicked. You know what I mean. Being humiliated, that’s beautiful if you don’t give up. If you give up, it’s not cool.”

Tyson also mentioned that taking humiliation and coming back stronger was a commendable feat in itself.
