The moment of impending doom is nearly here! Ryan Garcia will take on the reigning WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York! While many had shared their predictions for the fight, one name has changed his mind after seeing ‘King Ry’ in the locker room. It’s none other than former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson

While John Ramirez and David Jimenez were battling it out, Garcia and Haney arrived at the venue. Garcia looked especially keyed in as his shirt expressed his intentions for the fight. Written in bold letters, “Murder on my mind” Garcia walked into the venue with a serious look on his face. Meanwhile, a DAZN Boxing representative caught up with Tyson after his visit to Garcia’s locker room. Here’s why the former ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ changed his mind about the prediction.

Speaking to the DAZN representative, Tyson said, “I always thought it was going to be a great fight. It should have happened before the Gervonta Davis fight. So, I came here thinking Haney is going to dominate.” However, something has managed to curb Tyson’s opinion about the fight, but the question is: What?

Tyson then added, “but I went in—saw the energy of Garcia. It’s going to be an exciting fight. I am really looking forward to this fight. It has the potential of becoming one of the greatest fights of this year.” While it’s yet to be seen whether Garcia can live up to the praise from Tyson, Devin Haney is adamant about proving he is the superior fighter by defeating the Victorville native.

Following yesterday’s weigh-ins, where Garcia surprisingly came in heavier than the stipulated weight limit, 3.2 lbs over to be exact, losing the opportunity to steal Haney’s belt. Garcia agreed to pay Haney $500,000 per pound over the stipulated limit as per their bet. Despite that, when Haney was asked about the same before the fight by Ariel Helwani, Haney had some choice words for his opponent.

Haney said, “He’s very unprofessional, and I’m a true professional. I told him yesterday that his antics would betray him, but this is just a start. Tomorrow, the world will see that I’m levels above this average fighter. It doesn’t matter what weight he came in. I’m a true champion, and I will show it. I will end this pu**y! Get him out of boxing! It’s over.”

While Mike Tyson seems to have been swayed by Garcia’s energy, the question remains, can Ryan Garcia live up to the praise? Only time has the answer, as both fighters get in the ring in a few moments. Who are you betting on? Can Ryan defy the massive odds? Or will it be a walk in the park for Haney?
