Mike Tyson has announced a trilogy bout with Evander Holyfield, curbing all the rumors of the fight being off-charts. Although Evander Holyfield has hinted at moving on from the bout with no response from Tyson’s team, ‘Iron’ Mike has confirmed it via social media.
In an Instagram live session, Tyson spoke his mind and appeared confident about bagging the win against Holyfield, which would be his maiden victory over ‘The Real Deal’. Not only that, but Mike Tyson has also clarified staging the event in May, sending several fans into a frenzy.

“I just want everybody to know the fight is on with me and Holyfield. Holyfield’s a humble man I know that and he’s a man of God but I’m God’s man. Listen, I’m going to be successful May 29,” said Mike Tyson.

Both Holyfield and Tyson appear to have come under terms and with mutual consent, we can actually expect the fight to happen. In November last year, Tyson had put a quell on his 15-year-long hiatus from the ring to face Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition. The event became very popular, paving the way for several veteran fighters to return in action.
That said, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield are two of the greatest heavyweight boxers to have ever lived, sharing a vile rivalry in their prime. Their bad-blood feud garnered global attention, turning it into one of the heated rivalries of all time in boxing. So, a third clash in the dotage would clearly allure several boxing fans.

In 1996, Holyfield and Tyson collided for the first time and split the boxing world into two halves. While both the men had the believers on board, ‘The Real Deal’ knocked out Tyson in a shocking win. It was a lopsided win for Holyfield, which crafted the path for an epic rematch.
The rematch happened just six months later and turned out to be a controversial fight in boxing history. Akin to the first fight, Holyfield began dominating Tyson. But Tyson ended the show with a bizarre biting that took off Holyfield’s ear. The referee stepped in and disqualified Tyson, turning it into another win for ‘The Real Deal’. While the trilogy talks are on the line, Tyson can make it 2-1 on the scoreboard.
