The two spoke on an episode of ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson’ and addressed the topic of Lee. Tyson said, “Bruce Lee was a martial artist, but Bruce Lee was a street fighter. He likes to fight for real. Ain’t no drama, he likes to do it for real.”

This comment showed the former heavyweight champion’s admiration for Lee being a ‘real’ fighter. Buffer then added, “You gotta respect that because, with all the respect to the martial artists, but there’s a lot of people walking around with black belts on, but they’ve never been face-down.”

These comments from Buffer and Tyson not only showed the respect they have for Lee but also revealed their opinion of the current crop of fighters. Modern-day fighters come under immense criticism for their choice of opponents, and ‘Iron Mike’ and ‘The Voice of the UFC’ clearly think this separates Lee from the rest.

Tyson shared an instance that proved this attitude of Lee. He claimed there was once a Judo expert who asked Lee what he would do on the ground. Lee replied saying, if he were on the floor, he would get stomped.

‘Iron Mike’ then said, the response baffled the Judo expert. However, Lee then explained that he considered fighting three or four guys rather than one opponent. This attitude blew Tyson’s mind.

Many considered Tyson the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ during his prime. However, even he never had the mindset that Lee had. This comment showed just how different Lee was from the rest. When everyone worried about their opponent, Lee considered fighting as beating three or four opponents.
