Mike Tyson was one of the greatest phenomena of the 20th century in the sport of boxing. He was also one of the most spectacular figures. Keeping in mind the greatest success story of that time, in 1995, a biopic named ‘Tyson’ was released to showcase the different concealed aspects of the ‘Kid Dynamite’ on the big screen.

However, in an interview, Michael Jai White, who portrayed the life of Mike Tyson on the screen in the biopic ‘Tyson, recalled a movie scene. Where he was supposed to kiss the actor, who was playing the role of Tyson’s trainer Rooney.

He said, “My big movie foot to my career, the Mike Tyson. There is a scene where famously, Mike Tyson always kissed Kevin Rooney straight on the lips. Yes, he always did. That was part of the movie. I wasn’t going to bring that up.”

“It is what it is he was growing up in an Italian household or whatever, but I knew dude I was on my good behavior because I remember whatever that scene 89 or something like that like when the first time where I’m supposed to kiss Clark Gregg who playing Kevin Rooney because Mike Tyson used to do that,” White added.

However, the renowned actor denied doing that scene, and finally, the scene was cut from the movie plot.

The relationship between Mike Tyson and Kevin Rooney

Kevin Rooney was a professional boxer who turned into a trainer. He was one of the closest disciples of Cus D’Amato. When ‘Kid Dynamite’ arrived at the ‘Catskill’ gym when he was just 14 years old. He became the closest protégé of Kevin Rooney. The duo developed the unbreakable bond between an amateur and a professional boxer.

Notably, Rooney has trained no one before ‘Iron’ Mike. However, after the death of Cus, the things between them did not work well and Tyson fired Rooney from his team in 1988.
