In a recent interview, Mike Tyson talked about lessons and takeaways from life. He even spoke about what it was like growing up and training under Cus D’Amato’s wing. Tyson shared that he always wanted to impress his mentor.

He was even asked if he uses some of D’Amato’s methods on his own kids; Tyson said he would never dare to do that. He believes that his children are not tough enough to handle that kind of pressure. The 55-year-old suggested that his kids do not have the drive or the hunger to strive for his level of success.

Listen, I wouldn’t dare do to my kids what he (Cus D’Amato) did to me. This is the real deal, if I don’t do well in boxing, I go to prison or I die. If my kids don’t do well, they go back to a big house and all their rich friends come over and they play, eat stuff, come on, it’s not the same thing.

I tell them I’m sending them to military school if you got to pick a sport.

These kids don’t want to get tough enough, they might have a heart attack nowadays,” said Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson has big plans for his comeback to the ring

In this same interview, Mike Tyson also revealed that he is still not ready to hang up the gloves. He announced that he plans on first getting through his old rival Lennox Lewis and then want to face the current WBC champion, Tyson Fury.

When asked for confirmation on his intentions to fight Tyson Fury, Mike Tyson responded in a typical fashion – “I’d fight a lion if the price is right.”

However, his plan to fight ‘The Gypsy King’ is not just a shot in the dark. Turns out, even Tyson Fury now wants to fight the boxing legend.

He said that if he wins on October 9 against Deontay Wilder, he wants to fight Dillian Whyte in December in the UK. However, he also said that if that fight fails, he would “love” to fight ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson.

I love watching Mike fight, his comeback was amazing and I would love to fight Mike in an exhibition.

If the December fight with Dillian Whyte doesn’t happen, I would love to fight Mike in an exhibition.

Tyson vs Tyson, past vs present, there is so much fun to have out there in this game,” said Tyson Fury.
