Streaming platform Hulu is creating a mini-series on legendary boxer Mike Tyson’s life. Excited to look back at his phenomenal journey and his emergence as a great of the game, fans anxiously await the release of the series. Notably, Trevante Rhodes is playing the character of the Hall of Famer, and the actor has gone through a massive transformation to play the role to perfection.

Rhodes recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live where he was asked about his diet while training for the character. He funnily replied, “Honestly bro I had to eat more ice cream and do less cardio. Jeni’s wanna reach out, I would love the sponsorship Jeni’s.”

The series is slated to release on August 25th. However, while fans remain excited, Mike Tyson himself is rather upset with the series being released.
Mike Tyson slams streaming giant Hulu
The pound-for-pound king has expressed his disregard for the Hulu project since the beginning. According to reports, the streaming company is not paying Tyson for using his story. The former boxer took to Instagram and talked about the same.

Tyson wrote, “Don’t let Hulu fool you. I don’t support their story about my life. It’s not 1822, it’s 2022. They stole my life story and didn’t pay me. To Hulu executives I’m just a n****r they can sell on the auction block.”

Iron Mike’s story is full of twists and turns and a few documentaries have already been made about his life. Regardless, directors and producers continue to create works telling Tyson’s story in their own words. Apart from the Hulu mini-series, there is another series that is under production.

Academy award winner Jamie Foxx is expected to play the role of the heavyweight champion. Not to mention, even the boxer himself supports the story. Hollywood legends Martin Scorsese and Antoine Fuqua are also part of this project.
