When the decision of Natasha Jonas vs. Mikaela Mayer fell in the former’s favor, several fans were upset as they felt Mayer, who was more active during the fight, deserved to win. However, CompuBox highlighted Jonas’ accuracy in terms of total punches landed which somewhat justified her victory and Mayer’s loss of her IBF Welterweight title. Undoubtedly, Mayer wanted a rematch against Jonas. But now, we gain Mayer pursued a fight against WBO champion, Sandy Ryan!
With Coach Kay Koroma by her side back then, after the loss to Jonas, Mayer said that she not only deserved a rematch but Jonas’ career also greatly depended on the second fight between the two. But now, it seems Mayer wants to capture a title before she rematches Jonas. Therefore, as we gain, Team Mayer lately sent an offer to WBO Welterweight champion, Sandy Ryan who is currently training under Mayer’s former coach, Kay. But what did Ryan feel about it?
I’ll fight you anytime and any day of the week drama queen. But when the offer was terrible for me to defend my belt and you come with nothing I was advised differently by my team. https://t.co/wBpSQ66xTm

“We sent an offer to @sandyryan93 a few weeks ago but she turned it down ay close attention to who she fights next. Some talk about it and some be about it!” wrote Mikaela Mayer on X. While we do not have details of the offer made, Sandy Ryan thought she deserved better to face Mayer.
Mmkay well can’t wait to see who they advise you to fight instead. If it’s 7-0 Stephanie Pineiro then you most def lose this argument . Or maybe Coach Kay isn’t ready to stand in the opposite corner of me after 10 years together. 🤷🏼♀️ Idk! https://t.co/IZQx4e12eA

So, keeping the prospect of the fight alive, Ryan told “drama queen” Mayer that the “offer was terrible for me to defend my belt“. “I was advised differently by my team,” she added. Speaking of which Mayer wondered if Coach Kay hesitated “to stand in the opposite corner of me after 10 years together.”
At the same time, the American boxer suspected Sandy Ryan was taking an easier route with 7-0 Stephanie Pineiro Aquino who recently signed with Matchroom. Meanwhile, Eddie Hearn, Sandy Ryan’s promoter publicly announced Ryan vs. Mayer was a potential fight.

One must also understand that Mayer made the above tweets after Eddie Hearn claimed Mikaela Mayer and Chantelle Cameron were among the potential opponents Sandy Ryan could return against. “So, Sandy will be back in August/September. I think the Mayer fight is a great fight,” Eddie Hearn said. But, if Ryan was already “advised differently” [i.e. reject the offer by Mayer] by her team, then why is Hearn again interested in Mayer? Is he using Mayer’s name to hype the fans about Ryan’s return? Only time will tell.

“I don’t know what Natasha Jonas is doing. If she’s not fighting Mikaela Mayer, I would love to make that fight happen. I also love the Chantelle Cameron fight for Sandy Ryan,” added Eddie Hearn.
