WBO female featherweight champion, Mikaela Mayer, has given an important update about her next fight. The undefeated fighter spoke about her potential opponent, and also took a sly dig at rival Terri Harper.
The American has been calling Harper for a year now; however, the Englishwoman chose to battle Chinese fighter Hyun Mi Choi. This angered Mayer, who thinks ‘Belter’ is taking the easy way out of a fight. Nevertheless, fans can at least look forward to seeing Mayer back.

The undefeated champion then lashed out at critics who said she ducked that fight.
TR is in negotiation with Matchroom for a fight against Hamadouche and we should have a deal soon. So F everyone who thinks I wouldn’t take that fight lol. idgaf. But DONT FORGET that Harper chose 2 sign a deal w Choi when I’ve been calling her out 4 over a year. I’ve been game.

Maiva Hamadouche is no easy fight for Mayer. She has only one career defeat and is the IBF female Super-featherweight champion. Thus, fans can look forward to an exciting match-up between the pair. Moreover, if Mayer can win, it will set it up nicely in her plans to become unified.

Mikaela Mayer calls out Terri Harper for ducking her
After lashing out at the critics, Harper reminded everyone who is really ducking whom. She wrote, “But DONT FORGET that Harper chose 2 sign a deal w Choi when I’ve been calling her out 4 over a year. I’ve been game.”
Mayer is not happy with missing out on the Harper fight. However, the fact that Top Rank and Matchroom are working together for her current fight is a sign of good things.

Matchroom represents Harper, and if Top Rank can strike a deal with them for Hamdouche, it will make it easier to wrap up a deal for the Harper vs Mayer bout. However, it means ‘Belter’ has to get through her fight against difficult opposition in Choi.
Harper is currently recovering after her fight against Thanderz and will heal in time to face the Chinese fighter. Despite this, Mayer has wasted no time in staying active. Going by her tweet, we can expect an official announcement from Top Rank soon.
