Two weeks ago, in a witty Instagram post, ‘The Takeover’ branded boxing “garbage” without Teofimo. In addition, ridiculing boxing’s pay structure, he stated that a garbage man earned more than a boxer did by fighting inside the ring. In relation to this post, Lopez has now called boxing scripted. At this, while he did not elaborate on that statement, he certainly left one with several questions: Is the outcome of a fight predetermined?

Anyway, the former Unified Lightweight Champion of the world took to X and wrote, “Man … Boxing is not the same when it’s more scripted than the NFL.” “Might fine my a** the next time I celebrate too for Unsportsmanlike conduct! #Foolery,” he added.

Following the statement by Lopez, one cannot help but wonder how fairly the matchups are made. Despite being talented, is it ever guaranteed that one will receive the fight or the title shot they deserve? In this connection, Terence Crawford recently criticized the politics of boxing that kept one away from the fight they deserved.
