A house full of stars turned up as Gervonta Davis squared off against Ryan Garcia inside the T-Mobile Arena. Since the fight, in popular opinion, promised the emergence of the current ‘face of boxing’, many Holywood celebrities and former professional boxers showed up to cheer for Garcia and Davis. Both the fighters entered the ring with impressive resumes and promised the fans one memorable night in the history of the sport.

Recently, Stephen A. Smith declared that Garcia vs. ‘Tank’ contained the potential to be the “fight of the year“. While the likes of  Manny Pacquiao, Kylie Jenner, and Jake Paul rooted for Garcia, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson among others leaned toward Gervonta Davis. While Garcia entered the ring accompanied by his father and brother, Davis arrived with Chief Keef walking and rapping beside him.

While Garcia occupied the red corner, ‘Tank’ fought out of the blue corner. As soon as the bell rang, Garcia looked forward to establishing his jabs. While Garcia desperately tried to impose pressure by throwing his power punches, Davis, by timing his left hand scored the first knockdown of the night. With a glimpse of his power and accuracy, Davis slowed Garcia down by the third round. Meanwhile, Showtime Sports tweeted some of the photos of the stars who showed up to witness the memorable battle between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis.

Among others, Mark Wahlberg, director and star of Creed III Michael B. Jordan, and Chance the Rapper were spotted at the venue. On the other hand, among athletes, Erickson Lubin, the Charlo brothers, Anthony Direll, Caleb Plant, and, of course, Floyd Mayweather Jr. showed up. By the fourth round, Davis displayed more quickness, footwork, and speed. And by the fifth round, ‘Tank’ looked like he figured out Garcia’s reach. In the 7th round, with a thudding shot to the body, Davis forced Garcia to take a knee. A thundering left hand to the liver and Garcia had his first pro defeat. Following the win, Davis called himself the ‘face of boxing’.
