Met Gala 2024: Ryan Garcia Snubs Iggy Azalea and Kendall Jenner to Ask Kylie Jenner on a Date

The biggest night in fashion had everyone talking, including boxing’s very own, Ryan Garcia. Among the multiple divas that graced the infamous red carpet laid down by the steps of the MET Museum in New York, he sought a date from some. While his first choice was Iggy Azalea, who did not make it to the carpet, other pictures from the event made him indecisive.

The first Monday of May, the iconic, annual gala day hosted by Vogue’s Ana Wintour, took its course in all glory today. The A-listers, including the likes of the Kardashian clan, Zendaya, and others, were given the theme, ‘The Garden of Time’ inspired by a short story of the same name written by JG Ballard. While they put their best fashion foot forward, Garcia had his own commentary to give.

Did the ‘best dressed’ make it to the ‘best date’ list?

Not sure if it is his delusion or his confidence, but ‘KingRy’ did not hold himself back when he saw some of the female celebrities, perhaps some of the best dressed, dazzling on the red carpet. Their fashion choices nudged him to tell the world that he would like to go on a date with them. It was first Azalea, the rapper, who was not seen on the carpet. On his X, the 25-year-old wrote, “Should we go on a date with Iggy Azalea.”

However, as soon as visuals of the Jenner sisters emerged from the MET carpet, he had a change of heart. Not once, but twice. First, it was the oldest Jenner sister, Kendal, whose pictures he reposted on his X. He wrote, “Ight games over…KENDALL GARCIA…It’s time, babe, I LOVE YOU.”

But when her youngest sister’s images surfaced, he had two words to say. A direct message to Kendal and a proposal to Kylie Jenner. He simply wrote, “Nvm Kendall.”

The Jenner sisters arrive in style

Kendal Jenner, the world-class model and, at one point, the highest paid in the world walked the carpet in an archival 1999 Givenchy dress with a plunging neckline and more risqué back cutout. Her fit was sublime, with a retro hairdo and waist-long hair.

Kylie Jenner, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner Clan, a billionaire, and a makeup mogul, graced the carpet in an ivory, custom-made, Oscar De La Renta gown. It featured a figure-hugging bodice with coned detailing and a trumpet skirt with a puffy train. As per Vogue, her outfit was inspired by the garden statues mentioned in J. G. Ballard’s short story, “The Garden of Time.”
