With all the hype surrounding the fight, his promoter, Ellerbe, has dropped a huge bombshell. He spoke to FightHype.com and said, “I think the fight ends in a knockout. [for Gervonta Davis] Most definitely. It’s just a dangerous fight.

“And again, I’m just being honest, this is not a fight I picked. This is not a fight that I picked.”

Thus, this comment confirmed that the Barrios fight was one that ‘Tank’ wanted. Davis comes under criticism for not fighting the best in his division. However, facing a bigger opponent in Barrios proves he is willing to challenge himself to cement his place as one of the best.

“He’s working very hard in camp to go that, you know. But it’s a very dangerous fight. By no means is this a fight where I think Tank just walks in and walks through him.”
