The Mexican boxer last fought inside the ring against Gennady Golovkin in their trilogy fight and defeated Golovkin. He faced the first defeat of his career at the hands of Dmitry Bivol since he last lost to Floyd Mayweather in 2013. Alvarez is rumored to meet Bivol for a potential rematch in the near future.
