Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe confirms Gervonta Davis’ return. The three-division World champion Gervonta Davis will look to fight again after winning the WBA Super Lightweight title in June this year.

According to the ThaBoxingVoice podcast, Mayweather promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe confirmed that Gervonta Davis will return in a big PPV fight before the end of this year. That will make it Gervonta ‘The Tank’ Davis’ second fight of the year.

Earlier this year, the champion took on Mario Barrios for the WBA Super Lightweight title. Davis had to face some early trouble against his taller opponent. However, as the fight progressed, Davis’ class started showing as he outboxed his Mexican opponent.

Davis stunned the tough Mexican and dropped him twice in the eighth round. Then in the 11th round, Davis delivered the final crushing blow to his opponent. The referee stopped the fight, declaring the winner by TKO, and the new WBA Super Lightweight champion of the world, Gervonta Davis.

Since becoming a three-division world champion, Davis got called out by a number of fighters. Davis is in one of the most star-studded divisions in boxing with the likes of Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia, Teofimo Lopez, etc. Therefore, many fans have been wondering who and when will the Baltimore native fight next.

Who will Gervonta Davis fight next?

Ever since becoming Davis became a three-division world champion, boxers like Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia have called the Baltimore native out. However, now it seems like Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather’s protégé may end up fighting Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero in December.

Both the fighters fight for Mayweather promotions and fight on Showtime, so the fight will be easy to make. However, Davis will be going into unchartered territory if he takes on someone as big and strong as Rolly Romero, who is huge for a 135 pounder.
