The WBC Heavyweight champion’s father had an eight-year boxing career in the late 80s and early 90s, ending with an 8-4-1 record. But, can he stand up to ‘Iron Mike’? His son, Tyson Fury, thinks it’s a fair fight, but fans disagree. Furthermore, John Fury said he suggested to Mike Tyson on a podcast that they should fight.
John Fury wants to fight ‘Kid Dynamite,’ and he has a compelling reason. Fighting Mike Tyson would be the highlight of his life. Why is Mike Tyson not reacting to Sr. Fury’s wish to fight him?
In the interview, John Fury said he’s 58 and risking his life, so he wants good pay to fight ‘Iron Mike’. He made it clear that he’s only interested in fighting Mike Tyson and no one else. If it’s not Tyson, he’s not interested because he’s too old. He’s willing to fight Tyson immediately and Tyson knows it. However, he won’t keep talking about it, If Tyson isn’t interested.
As John said, “I’m 58 years old. I’m endangering my life, so they’re going to have to pay me well. But there’s only one man I’m interested in; there’s no one else…If it’s not Mike Tyson, I’m not interested. I’m too old. I’ll fight Mike Tyson at the drop of a hat, and he knows it. But I’m not going to keep banging on about it, you know, because if he doesn’t want it, that’s fair enough. Maybe he just doesn’t want to be in the game anymore.”

Furthermore, Sr. Fury revealed that fighting is his life. He doesn’t care if he wins, loses, or draws. Like his sons, he’ll fight anyone. But for him, there’s only one opponent that matters: Mike Tyson. As he professed, “At the end of the day, fighting is my life…Like my sons, I’ll fight anybody. But there’s nobody else out there for me. At this stage in the game, what would make my dream come true is to fight the man I named. If that happens, great; if it doesn’t, good luck to him.”
John Fury has made his intentions clear: he wants to fight Mike Tyson. He sees this potential match as the greatest moment of his life. Now, the decision rests solely with the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’. If he declines, John is ready to move on.
