In a rather bizarre confession, boxer Marcos Maidana said that he still possesses a tooth of Floyd Mayweather that came out during one of their fights.

Maidana fought Mayweather twice in 2014- losing both of them. During their second fight, Maidana claimed to have broken one of Mayweather’s teeth with a punch.

“In the third round, when he hit me with that shot after the bell, it was a real good shot. It got my attention,” Mayweather had said, of Maidana’s punch after the fight. “It was nothing I never felt before, but it was a really good shot which got my attention.”

“No, he didn’t knock my teeth out. Not at all! He’s a strong guy, he’s a good puncher, but no, as far as my teeth missing, absolutely not.”

Mayweather might not have admitted one of his teeth came out, but Maidana claimed he still has the tooth as a memento. In an Instagram post on Friday, Medina had a photo of the tooth as a pendant in his chain.

Marcos Maidana did not admit his loss against Floyd Mayweather

While Maidana lost two boxing bouts against Mayweather in the span of a few months, he, on the contrary, believes he won those fights.

“I definitely think I won this fight,” he said after Mayweather won their first fight via majority decision. “Floyd did not fight like a man. Other fighters respected him and did not go toe-to-toe with him like I did.  He did dominate some rounds, but the majority of rounds I dominated them.”

“I will give him the rematch because I won the fight.”

In their rematch four months late, Mayweather won by unanimous decision. But Maidana was still reluctant to admit his loss.
