The much-awaited Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr. matchup is no longer happening on August 21. WBC-IBF welterweight champion Spence Jr. has suffered a retinal injury on his left eye and has been medically advised to walk away from the fight. However, Pacquiao will still appear on the date and will reportedly take on WBA titlist Yordenis Ugas.

The sudden derailment in Pacquiao vs Spence Jr. will also influence the ongoing championship ride in the 147 lbs roster. Errol Spence Jr’s departure from the bout will take away the WBC and IBF championship status from the nearing PPV. That said, the vacant Ring 147 lbs belt can remain at stake along with Ugas’ WBA title.

Nevertheless, as per the current scenario, ’54 Milagros’ Ugas will be the prime focus for Manny Pacquiao.
